What is CARF?

The Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities or CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization. They focus on ensuring the services you use meet your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes.

CARF reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally on request of a facility or program. CARF standards are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available.

What is Accreditation?

When a service or program is CARF-accredited, it means Holly Ridge Center AES Department has passed an in-depth review. AES meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service, safety and quality; a qualified endorsement that it conforms to national and international recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for persons it serves.

What does it mean to you the Consumer?

When the service or program you choose is CARF accredited, it means your provider has passed an in-depth review of its services. It is your assurance that the provider meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality; a qualified endorsement that your provider conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the most favorable results for you.

What were some of the things CARF had to say about the AES in the latest 3 year Accreditation Report?

  • The staff members are dedicated and committed to the mission of the organization. Many staff members have considerable longevity with this organization. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and ongoing support of persons with disabilities is evident.

  • The Adult Employment Services staff is commended for its creative approach to developing jobs, building on strengths and negotiating job accommodations to overcome barriers to successful employment. In addition, commendation is due to the organization for promoting and hiring individuals with significant disabilities to work as vocational trainers within the organization. This is an organization that genuinely believes in its mission.

  • Holly Ridge Center is commended for offering a variety of community employment services and supports. Comprehensive situational assessments are completed, and relevant summary reports provide realistic recommendations and vocational options based on each individual’s desired strengths and preferences.

  • Comprehensive polices regarding rights are clearly stated throughout the Handbook, given at intake , reviewed periodically, and clearly respected throughout the Adult Employment Services department at Holly Ridge Center
