Daniele
has been working with Holly Ridge Center since July 2006. We worked with her to find employment. We met with Daniele on a regular basis searching for jobs and doing interview preparation. She volunteered for a long term care facility and really wanted to stay in that field. When finding employment in her area was unsuccessful, we started looking other areas. After several applications and talking to managers she was asked to come back for an interview. He told her he would let us know. He called back the same day and told her to come back and fill out rest of paperwork because she was hired. That was October 2006. She has been there since. She started working with three shifts a week then moved up to four shifts.
Holly Ridge Center helped train her and continues to check on her periodically to make sure she stays employed.
" Have you ever been in a situation of wanting a job but having no success finding one? It can be frustrating and depressing when you are unable to even get your foot in the door for an interview. Chances are slim to none if you have no marketable skills to impress a prospective employer. It wasn't until my daughter interviewed with Holly Ridge that hopelessness changed to a new outlook. With a knowledgeable and caring staff, Holly Ridge not only assisted my daughter in her interview preparation but also helped to train and guide her in supported employment. Melanie Baker, a Holly Ridge employment specialist, worked with my daughter to develop the appropriate job skills for her job and to motivate her to succeed, given the chance. Sometimes all you need is a helping hand which can make all the difference. That is what Holly Ridge did for Daniele. Thank you."
